Director, DIEMR
Dr.Kulbhushan Kushal (M.Phil, Ph.D- English
Literature) has been mentoring and monitoring
educational processes and transactions at the
school, college and university levels. Currently
he is the Director of DIEMR. This research-driven
institution, apart from facilitating interactions
and reflections on the trends and tendencies
of education in the global contexts, has also
been focusing on effective curriculum development
and management, multiple learning and teaching
strategies, segment-specific learning resources
and processes and integration of national educational
initiatives in the private and public education
domain. Three of his recent experimental initiatives-
KHOJ, HERITAGE and NATIONAL TALENT SEARCH have
gained nation-wide popularity and are eagerly
awaited by the educational community.
The Institute, with the dedicated team under
his leadership, is committed to actualize systemic
quality improvements and effective involvement
of communities in education. His team strongly
believes that the objectives of authentic education
are far beyond academic enhancement. The team's
thrust is on creating an education that transforms
the quality of life and expedites the development
of the nation. An extensive sharing of innovative
practices and strategies that take education's
role and objectives beyond examinations, memorization
and rote-learning is the hallmark of DIEMR.
Dr.Kushal has been instrumental in organizing
eight national level seminars and conferences
in addition to several short seminars and brain-storming
sessions, to carry forward the task of promoting
quality intensive educational development. The
cosmetic tampering and procedural touch-ups
we have witnessed in education need to be replaced
with a transformational agenda with the potential
to create all-round excellence. Credit for creating
this nation-wide awareness deservedly goes to
Dr.Kushal and his team.
In addition to his responsibilities as the
Director of DIEMR, Dr.Kushal has established
a chain of educational institutions in Maharashtra
and Gujarat. His book of poems titled Shrinking
Horizons and several of his poems in Hindi and
research articles in English have been published
in several literary journals. Recognizing his
contribution to reforming education, several
national bodies have felicitated Dr.Kushal.
He has been nominated as Chairman of the education
sub-committee of the Quality Council of India
(QCI). Numerous interactions of DIEMR with other
agencies like NIEPA, CBSE, NCERT, UGC, QCI have
culminated in DIEMR acquiring credibility and
competence to respond to the initiatives being
planned by the government of India to reinvent
education and make it so potent that it results
in empowerment of the nation. It is primarily
due to his obsession with making a difference
to the cause of education that DIEMR has won
the admiration and support of many of the best-known
personalities and professionals in education.
The schools founded by Dr.Kushal have been progressively
adopting the integrated management systems encompassing
quality, environment and health and safety management
systems. DAV Thane, Panvel, Airoli and Pune
have also won the prestigious IMC-Ramakrishna
Bajaj national quality award.
